Goldie’s Rotisserie Food Truck Enters The Martha’s Vineyard Food Scene

I don’t know about you, but I have been following Goldie’s Rotisserie truck faithfully on social media. When I saw that the day had come, the first day the truck would be open to the public, I had to go. Hello Sunshine – Goldie’s Rotisserie Food Truck Enters The Martha’s Vineyard Food Scene

First of all, the truck itself is so happy and joyful to see. On the front, it does actually say “Hello Sunshine.” You can literally feel the good vibes coming from it. It’s the cutest food truck I have ever seen.

Goldies will be at the Vineyard Artisans Festival on Thursdays and on Sundays at The Grange Hall throughout the summer. You can also hire Goldie’s for your next event. Imagine the delight of your friends and family seeing that fabulous food truck at your party.

At the Artisans Festival, you can explore local artists — painters, jewelry makers, woodworkers, pottery and more. The Island has so many talented artists. While there, Goldie’s makes for the perfect lunch – to enjoy there or to take with you. It’s such a great addition to the festival.

Goldie’s Rotisserie Food Truck Enters The Martha’s Vineyard Food Scene – Inspiration From France

Goldie’s is the creation of Lexie Roth and Eva Faber who have worked together for the past two years. Together, their love of food has led to the creation of a food truck unlike any other on the Island. The concept was inspired by Rotisserie food trucks in France.

“At the heart of our operation is Goldie, a traditional, six-spit rotisserie custom made in France for the Goldie’s Rotisserie truck. The rotating spits allow meat to roast to perfection, constantly basting itself, sealing in natural juices while letting fat drip off (and onto our lovely potatoes and brussels sprouts). We can’t wait to bring the tradition of this historic method of French cooking to our little island.”

The dream is to eventually have a brick and mortar location but the food truck is a great way to get their food to people now. They want to offer people good, simple foods that make them happy. Hence the name Goldie’s. You think of sunshine and happy things and even perhaps juicy, golden chicken, their specialty.

I went on opening day, and had just missed the last chicken sandwich. There was a line at the truck before it even opened I heard. Apparently, I was not the only one excited to go to Goldie’s.

Ordering at Goldie’s

Not discouraged one bit, because it just means I have to go back now. I also want to try their homemade lemonade and save room for the “ice cream sandwich of the day.” I did get the French Onion Hot Dog, Kale Slaw, and a cold brew coffee.

The French Onion Hot Dog is a grass-fed beef hot dog, topped with caramelized onions, and in their words, gooey gruyère in a brioche bun. What a sight for hot dog fans. It is a classic elevated!

The slaw is a great side – so light and flavorful. Though all was delish, I am still thinking about that chicken sandwich. The sandwich they featured the day I went was the Rotisserie Chicken Sandwich which was on house sourdough, with tomatoes from Morning Glory Farm, Goldie’s Pesto, mozzarella, and of course Goldie’s Chicken. While I wasn’t able to get one for myself, I was able to get a picture of one and see what I was missing.

Co-owner, Chef Lexie Roth

I was surprised to learn that Lexie Roth has been a chef for the past 13 years. I remember her singing with her father, Arlen Roth, on the dock during my Plum TV days. She has an incredible voice. It was wonderful to see that she has a passion for food and is sharing that passion with so many. She looked so happy in the truck! I had so many questions to ask, but she was beyond busy. I will have to catch up with her soon.

Congratulations to the entire Goldie’s Rotisserie family! I am looking forward to Goldie’s in my future again soon.
