There’s a new contender for breakfast in Oak Bluffs, Dos Mas. Dos Mas is the sister to Edgartown’s popular MV Taco. There are definitely a lot of similarities – fun vibe, great music, laughter and of course Mexican food!
What’s different besides the space and town is the fact that Dos Mas serves breakfast. Starting an 9:00 a.m., the taco brothers, Evan and Zared Shai are serving up Huevos Ranchaeros, breakfast tacos, chilaquiles and more.
Dos Mas Mexican Restaurant Opens In Oak Bluffs
Dos Mas is where Slice of Life was on Circuit Avenue. When you walk in, it’s an interesting scene. It is quite different on the inside. The feel is totally different. Harry Belafonte was playing on the radio, immediately setting the tone – it’s going to be a fun time even at 9:00 a.m.
There is a large bar area, which is amazing, some fun seating, and a very open kitchen. The porch is somewhat the same, but I bet that will change in time.
Dos Mas Delivers
The menu is not huge, but has everything you need for breakfast. There’s even fresh House Juice and fresh squeezed OJ. Though each menu item was carefully chosen, Zared is particularly fond of the the MAShuka, their play on Shakshouka, a traditional Middle Eastern dish.

Now to my favorite part, FOOD! I came to Dos Mas hungry! I started my meal with a House Juice. You can choose what you’d like, but I let Zared decide. It was a delicious blend of beets, ginger, apple and pear. Nice to have a healthy start to the day!
Of course I had to have the MasShuka. Chocked full of tomatoes, peppers, onions and an egg, served with their signature tortillas, it’s a comfort dish for the morning.
Huevos Rancheros had to happen too. This was my favorite – beans, salsa verde, fried egg, cotija, chihuahua cheese, and cilantro. Eating this and listening to Harry on the radio, is a great way to start the day.
Dos Mas Tacos
Don’t forget about the tacos. Taco MV (Backyard Taco) has a cult like following for their tacos. Now they are available in Oak Bluffs. It’s a game changer for their fans!
Oh and some of their ingredients come from the rooftop garden they have started. It’s fun to grow your own peppers. From a garden to breakfast, Dos Mas is making dreams come true for the Shai brothers.
These two have a way of making a restaurant fun. Whether you are in Oak Bluffs or Edgartown, it will be memorable. Don’t forget about Dos Mas for lunch and dinner too! Their margaritas are pretty amazing and I bet the bar seen is good especially at night!
