What a way to kick off the 11th Annual Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite – with the most successful Giving Tuesday we have had to date. We had incredible support from near and far, the Giving Tuesday event raised $19,080. That was $12,720 in donations plus a Point B Realty 50% match of $6,360.00. Nearly $20,000 raised in one day for the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club’s Healthy Happy Kids food program!
Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite Had Its Most Successful Giving Tuesday to Date – Many People To Thank
We give thanks to everyone who supported this drive, we are so humbled by the generosity shown by friends, neighbors, clients, and team members. The current overall total of the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite Fundraiser has climbed to $22,595. We’re almost halfway, but that does leave $27,000+ to go.
“I am humbled by the outpouring of support Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club received from our community during this year’s Giving Tuesday celebration. We are fortunate to live in a place that understands this day is more than just a day of giving – it’s an opportunity for people to connect and impact the causes they care most deeply about year-round,” said Dhakir Warren, Executive Director, MVBGC. “A special thank you to our long-term partner Point B Realty whose ongoing support and partnership play a critical role in furthering our efforts to serve island youth and families.”
Our fundraising goal this year is $50,000 which is enough to cover the entire cost of the Club’s vital food program, Healthy Happy Kids. The after-school program provides free food and meals-to-go for a great many elementary school-aged children on the Island.

If you missed Giving Tuesday, you can still donate! There are many ways throughout December! Simply click here to donate and help a difference today in the lives of Island children, as we tackle food insecurity and childhood hunger. You can also participate in Teddies Around Town, our fun holiday scavenger hunt. Businesses in town have sponsored bears and placed them in their storefront windows. Stop by Point B to get your riddle sheet with clues, and at the end, you get a beary special prize ($5.00 per participant), learn more.
There is also the 7th Annual Teddy Bear Trot, Holiday 5K Run & Walk which is easy to sign up for, learn more here. This is the only 5k that goes through downtown Edgartown, and it is the most festive run/walk on the Island! Strollers, Dogs, costumes, and holiday attire are suggested!
We hope you support the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite as we work together to raise the $50,000 needed to fund Healthy Happy Kids, and really help do something about food insecurity and childhood hunger on the Vineyard. Through Teddies Around Town, the Teddy Bear Trot, and online donations, we can make a difference and really help Island kids who need us.
