Each Thursday evening, come to 29 Winter Street in Edgartown, to experience and support talented local artists — perhaps one that is new to you or a favorite that you are already familiar with. We’re happy to sponsor this showcase of local talent!
From 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (expanded hours) you will find a carefully curated collection of artists. We’re featuring artists we’ve gotten to know through our On Point MV Blog or whose work we have admired throughout the years.
Pop Up @ 29 Winter Street – Artist MC Lamarre’s Style
This week, we are featuring MC Lamarre. On July 25th, MC will bring a collection of her latest paintings which are inspired by the beauty of Martha’s Vineyard, some serene and some feature a little whimsy!
MC has the ability to transform anything into art. From her mural work, which is found all over the country and even in the Oak Bluffs School, to her buoy paintings (that can be customized), to her epic Green Monster pieces, to her stunning seascapes on shingles, she is an artist that knows how to make her client’s art dreams come to fruition.
We are so lucky to have her this week for our Pop Up @ 29 Winter Street! Come see her collections, and meet this talented artist.
Pop Up @ 29 Winter Street – About MC Lamarre
HAVE BRUSHES. WILL TRAVEL. Over 14 years with brushes in hand, at the request of her clients, MC has now traveled across the US and Canada to transform both commercial and residential spaces with a little color and a whole lot of creativity. No project is too big or too small… she will do it all!
Her work has been featured on several TV Shows and News Segments as well as in both national and international publications. While known for my meticulous rendering of the likeness of Fenway Park’s iconic left field wall, the Green Monster, my brushes have been commissioned to participate in two reality TV series: Spike TV’s Bar Rescue and Gordon Ramasy’s Hotel Hell on Fox…. neither episodes feature a monster….well, not a green one!
From basements to bedrooms, bars to barns… happy to paint it all. Self-taught as a painter and trained as a potter, I am happiest when exercising my creativity and transforming the dull and drab into something creative and timeless.
Our goal with Pop Up @ 29 is to provide a beautiful space for local artists like MC to showcase their incredible work, and of course, offer our customers, clients, and people visiting the Island a fun experience. We hope to help you find that special reminder of the Island to bring with you, when you return home, wherever that may be.
