Welcome Summer! It's the best time of year to dine out on Martha's Vineyard. We all have our personal favorites, but it's always fun to try the newest restaurants and see if they make it to your new foodie bucket list. We're calling our destination dining guide New Martha's Vineyard Restaurants For Your Summer Dining Guide.
Let's start with Vineyard Haven. This town is now a serious dining destination. With 9 Craft Kitchen, La Strada and El Barco joining the restaurant scene last year and perennial favorites Fish MV, The Attic, Black Dog Tavern, Garde East, Salvatore's, Beach Road, and S & S Kitchenette, there are now so many dining options. And, there are new additions this season!
New Martha's Vineyard Restaurants For Your Summer Dining Guide - The Maker Pasta Shop & Cafe
Located where Little House Cafe once was, The Maker Pasta Shop & Cafe is a year-round restaurant serving lunch and dinner. Lunch is served from 11AM to 3 PM. The lunch menu is impressive. Look for items like Big Eye Tuna Tartare and sandwiches like the Mushroom Melt, with truffle aioli, baby arugula, roasted mushrooms, provolone cheese on herbed focaccia with mushroom au jus. Of course there are pasta options too, after all, pasta is the cafe's specialty.
Dinner is served 5 - 9 PM, and is loaded with fresh inspiring menu items, including inviting salads, charred Spanish octopus, meatballs and burrata salad, and main entrees include Chef's famous Wagyu beef bolognese with fresh bucatini, Martha's Rose Scallops with ox tail marmalade, and many more scrumptious sounding options. There's also the Pasta Shop which offers grab and go sandwiches, salads, fun swag, and more. You can also buy The Maker fresh pasta by the pound.
The Maker is owned by Chef Carlos Montoya and Shennagh Caridi. Opening The Maker is a dream come true for this couple. For decades, Carlos has been a private chef and working in someone else's kitchen around the Island. Now, he has his very own, and the food at The Maker is food made with love and passion.
The Maker is closed on Sundays.
New Martha's Vineyard Restaurants For Your Summer Dining Guide - Simone's Belgian Waffles
Inside the ice cream shop, The Ice Box at the Tisbury Marketplace, you will find Simone's Belgian Waffles. These amazing waffles are great for breakfast or a sweet treat. You can get all sorts of toppings on them and there are Signature Waffles like Banana, Nutella, & Whipped Cream. They're great with ice cream too.
Simone's Waffles is currently closed but will be returning weekend evenings in July thur August. Be on the lookout for surprise pop-ups too. To learn more about Simone's, click here.
New Martha's Vineyard Restaurants For Your Summer Dining Guide - MV Tap
MV Tap is located right at 5 Corners. You can't miss this new bold blue restaurant. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, open 7 AM - 11PM. Great spot to stop by if you're heading to the boat and want a bite.
MV Tap has burgers, wings, a selection of entrees including cod, half roasted chicken, braised lamb shank and more. There's outdoor seating and live music on Friday afternoons.
New Martha's Vineyard Restaurants For Your Summer Dining Guide - Revel Gallery & Provisions
Chef Johnny Graham from Revel Catering opened Revel Gallery & Provisions where The Larder once was on State Road. Now foodies can enjoy his cooking without have to go to a catered event! This is the perfect spot to stop on the way to the beach. You can find everything you need here.
The shop has sandwiches, takeaway food options, Chilmark Coffee, snacks, provisions, and much more! It's fun to see what's new each day. A special last week was homemade brats with tater tots. I am a sucker for all things tater tots! So I will be on the lookout for them again on Revel's instagram page.
Don't forget that Revel offers catering as well. Revel Gallery and Provisions is open Daily 11 AM - 7 PM, closed on Tuesdays.
New Martha's Vineyard Restaurants For Your Summer Dining Guide - Quitsa Kitchen
Quitsa Kitchen is another catering, turned brick and mortar food shop. Theresa Manning of Quitsa Cuisine opened Quitsa Kitchen mid Winter, and Quitsa has quickly become a popular local spot. Located where Life at Humphrey's was, this place is sure to secure a spot as one of your favorites.
Quitsa offers delicious signature sandwiches for breakfast and lunch, takeaway meals, tasty sweet treats, coffee and tea, This is a great the spot for a bite to eat or coffee with a friend. There is seating indoors and outside as well. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming. If you're in a pinch for a Vineyard potluck their orzo salad is a crowd pleaser. When I am in a pinch, it's my go-to side dish to bring.

Sunday, 7am - 3pm, closed on Mondays. The kitchen is open for breakfast and lunch from 7am - 2pm. Treats, coffee and takeaway are all day.
First Light Cafe
There is an update for The First Light Cafe at the Martha's Vineyard Museum. The cafe, which overlooks the lagoon is a great spot to grab a bite or a cup of coffee. Gina Stanley of Art Cliff diner is providing the food for the cafe. So, you know it's fantastic! Let's make our way over to Oak Bluffs. This year, there are a couple of changes to the OB restaurant scene. Linda Jeans sadly has closed its doors. The previous chef/manager wanted to focus more on Winston's Kitchen, their wildly popular takeaway restaurant by Our Market. Michael Santoro of Santoro Hospitality Group has taken over the lease, and will be opening Michael's in the coming year. We'll follow up with more information as it becomes available.
Black Joy Kitchen
You may have heard of Black Joy Catering with Chef Ting. Well now there is Black Joy Kitchen restaurant. Located where Sea Smoke used to be, across from Tony's, the building has totally been reimagined. The space is bright and full of light and colorful accents. It's so welcoming.
The menu features "Modern Dishes that capture the flavor of the season". Choose your dining options from three menu columns, Garden, Sea, Land. From Garden, you'll find dishes like Hen of the Woods. From Sea, enjoy dishes like Crab Ravioli or Wood Fired Sea Bream (good source of omega-3) and from Land, the Fried Quail sounds devine.

Now to Edgartown. The restaurant scene remains relatively the same. I've heard that Atria's cellar bar has been renovated so clearly I need to visit soon. Aside from that, it's all your favorites serving up their signature dishes. There is one noteworthy change though.
Ben & Bills Ice Cream
The Oak Bluffs Best of the Vineyard Best Ice Cream winner (year after year) now has an Edgartown location. You'll find Ben & Bills on Dock Street, where the Scoop Shack used to be. While you're there, try their famous Lobster ice cream or enjoy their housemade candies. Everything is so good here.
You'll have to stop by after dinner or the beach a get a scoop or two. Ben & Bill's in Edgartown is open from 10am - 11pm daily. Being open that late means late night ice cream!
