For Giving Tuesday, we’re inviting you to help us give, give, give to the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club (MVBGC) — an organization deeply rooted in supporting our Island’s youth and a cause incredibly close to our hearts. Thanks to the generosity of this amazing community and our supporters around the globe, you’ve helped us raise nearly $470,000 over the last 14 years — a truly remarkable impact that has supported thousands of meals and meaningful programming for Island kids and their families. We're launching the Point B Giving Tuesday Match For The Martha's Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite Fundraiser (see below).

 

As we head into our 15th year, the beloved Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite Fundraiser continues to raise the critical funds for the MVBGC’s After the Bell Food Security Program and The Blue Door Pantry, which provides free meals, snacks and grab-n-go meals for hundreds of Club members and their families.

 

Our goal this year is $50,000 -- and to get the drive going, Point B Compass is offering a 50% Match for all online donations on Giving Tuesday (Dec 2nd), up to $10,000! Every donation, big or small, helps ensure that Island children have the nourishment, care, and support they need to thrive.

Beyond the Bell Food Security Program

From the Martha's Vineyard Boys & Girls Club: "Beyond the Bell actively addresses the pervasive challenge of food insecurity by providing essential resources, including healthy snacks, grab-and-go meals, fresh produce, and non-perishables through the Blue Door Pantry. Beyond the Bell operates as a comprehensive food security program: Healthy Snacks and Grab-and-Go Meals: The Club offers convenient and nutritious options to address immediate hunger needs, particularly for individuals with busy schedules or limited cooking facilities. They provide, on average, 1,000 healthy snacks per week and 450 meals per month. Through partnerships with local farms and suppliers, we ensure access to fresh fruits and vegetables weekly, promoting healthy eating habits and reducing reliance on processed foods. Through the Blue Door Pantry, we provide shelf-stable food items to supplement families' pantries, ensuring a consistent source of sustenance during challenging times. 40-50 families are visiting the pantry each month."

 

 

"Beyond the Bell has demonstrated a profound impact on the lives of the Island families served: Club families have reported reduced anxiety and stress related to food access, enabling them to focus on other essential aspects of their lives. At the Club out-of-school learning programs, youth still have access to nutritious food to focus on programs and peer interactions rather than worrying about where their next meal is coming from. Thus, members have enough nutrition to fuel an active, healthy lifestyle."

 

Beyond the Bell is committed to alleviating this burden by providing accessible and nutritious food and staple options, thus addressing food-insecure families' multifaceted challenges. With your help, Point B Compass is continuing to help support this vital program. 

 

 

MV Teddy Bear Suite Returns To Harbor View Hotel This Year

 

In addition to our online fundraising drive, the Martha's Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite also has a real world home. Step into a world of holiday magic during Christmas in Edgartown at this year's MV Teddy Bear Suite. The Harbor View Hotel has returned as a marquee sponsor, and we're thrilled to be working together again. This beloved holiday tradition began in a small room at the iconic Edgartown hotel 15 years ago, and has continued to grow in splendor over the years. The bears are thrilled to be back at home at the hotel — all in support of the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club. 

 

 

Visitors will be welcomed into two guest rooms in the Roxana Building, that are completely transformed into a warm holiday haven filled with hundreds of teddy bears of all sizes, twinkling lights, festive decor and holiday spirit. It’s a magical experience for children and adults alike, offering a chance to make cherished memories during the holidays on Martha's Vineyard.

- Saturday, December 13 | 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM Sunday

- December 14 | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

This ensures that you and your family can enjoy a wonderful, stress-free experience at a time that works best for you, while helping us manage crowds and maintain the magic of the Suite.
