Now in its second week, and with our first ever Shop For A Cause trunk show fundraising event, the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite has raised $2,000. That’s over 10% of our $15,000 goal for the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club and its vital After School Program which serves hundreds of elementary school aged Island kids throughout the year.
Parents pay just $20 per child for the year. That’s a small amount to pay for safe, fun, after school care. Because the fee is kept so affordable, there’s a lot of fundraising and support needed from the Martha’s Vineyard Community, and that’s why the #MVTeddybearsuite is so important.
What Can $15,000 Do For The Club?
$15,000 FUNDRAISING DOLLARS EQUAL:
- Bus transportation for over 60 kids each day after school to attend the Club
- Free snacks and meals for over 90 kids each day after school for the entire school year
- Program supplies for art, education, athletic, and recreation programs for an entire year
Shop For A Cause
We’re always looking for fun ways to help raise money for the Club at the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite. This year, we partnered with two amazing Island artists for our first ever, Shop For A Cause trunk show.
What a perfect spot the suite is. Decorated in holiday splendor, holiday music playing, and of course surrounded by cute cuddly bears, the suite provides the perfect location for putting you in the holiday spirit. Also, you’re buying unique gifts people will cherish and you’re shopping with a cause — 10% of the sales go to the After School Program.
Rebeccah J
I have a special fondness for Rebeccah Clark and her Rebeccah J leather goods. My very first On Point blog was about her and her designs. I immediately fell in love with her jewelry and was amazed by her talent. Not to mention that she is fun and very sweet.
Also, with all her new designs, including the beloved Mermaid Cuff, it was easy to get beautiful gifts and check loved ones — who’ve been good — off my holiday shopping list.
We were thrilled to have her onboard to help support the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club, and to have the suite be enjoyed by adults as much as the kiddos.
It truly is a magical holiday spot – just warm and cozy. Add friends and a glass of wine, and you can bask in the glow of the season.
Gilly B
An added bonus to the evening was that Gillian Badot joined in the fun. She and her adorable kids and baby clothing line, Gilly B, make the perfect gift for little Vineyard lovers. Her clothes and accessories are simple and whimsical but yet so memorable and adored by little ones.
I know that my son loves his Lobster, by Gilly B. It’s been a favorite since his big sister handed it down to him. It makes him smile and it makes me smile every time he wears it.
