Summer Sundays are some of the best days. It's a day for a little more frivolity. A day that allows for a something a little different, maybe it's a diet breaking, carefree kind of day. And Sundays just got a little more fun with Pocket Dog Sunday Pop-Ups at The Ritz in Oak Bluffs.

Pocket Dogs - Gourmet Hot Dogs at The Ritz

Husband and wife team, Ricky and Brae Eddleston are taking over The Ritz Kitchen on Sundays with Pocket Dogs pop-ups. Pocket Dogs is a day of just hot dogs being offered for lunch from the kitchen. But not just any hot dogs, they offer super fun hot dog combinations that will delight and leave you in awe.

From a classic Chili Cheese Dog, to the Pickle Dog ( dill aioli, chopped pickles & potato sticks), to a Kraut Dog to even an Everything But the Bagel Dog ( whipped cream cheese, sliced cucumbers, EBTB seasoning, you will find some fun and interesting hot dog creations.

Each dog is served on one of the most delicious hot dog buns I have ever had with a  pickle on the side. I personally am hoping they add a bag of chips on the side for a little extra crunch or perhaps some of the potato sticks that are used on one of the hot dogs. It's definitely fun to go to Pocket Dogs Pop-Up with friends so you can sample a number of hot dogs. Or if you are on the go, get them to go - hot dogs are great for the beach or for your boat. 

For our order, we had the Pickle Dog, (so good if you like dill pickles), the Chili Cheese Dog (classic goodness), the Onion Dip Dog (a good choice if you like French Onion Dip), and the Everything But the Bagel Dog. This one was my favorite. While it sounds like an odd combination, it is really good. Yes cream cheese and cucumber and a hot dog make for a good bite. Try it for yourself. I think  you'll be surprised.

There are a number of other hot dog combinations to choose from, in addition to a once only Sunday special each week. You'll find Ricky & Brae in the kitchen laughing and enjoying the day. They have wanted to do something fun like this for a long time now. Living on Circuit Avenue in Oak Bluffs, they know how to bring the fun.

Pocket Dogs is open only on Sundays, 1:00pm until Ricky and Brae run out. This pop-up definitely offers a fun vibe for a Sunday afternoon. When we went, there were lots of people there for the dogs. There was even a DJ. DJ Ricky Prime was spinning some great music that helped make it even more fun. The bartenders and other patrons make it great as well.

Stop by this Sunday and experience a DOG-GONE fun, foodie time, and as Pocket Dogs says "Sunday Bunday".
