It’s true – the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite has been extended! In case you missed it or if you haven’t gone, this magical event, where holiday memories are made will be open Tuesday, December 13th – Saturday, December 14th, daily from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., at the Harbor View Hotel Captain Collins Cottage #20.
So many people have asked us to continue the suite which has become a part of their Christmas tradition on Martha’s Vineyard, and the bears were totally up for it.
More Good News
The Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite is so much more than an event – it is a fundraiser for the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club’s Happy Healthy Kids, a new program to address childhood hunger on the island.
Did you know that one in four island children are on free or reduced lunch through the school system? For some little ones, that means their last meal for the day can be as early as 11:00 a.m. or 11:30 a.m.
Because of this, the Club, which serves hundreds of elementary school aged kids each week, from all six towns, started Happy Healthy Kids. At the Club, kids have the chance to have a free, nutritious snack. This is more than a couple of goldfish and an apple.
Executive director, Jessie Damroth, has partnered with Island Grown Schools, Vineyard Nutrition, and Morning Glory Farm to create “food bars” that are full of good things to eat. One day there might be a granola bar with lots of fresh fruits for toppings, or a pasta bar with veggies and all sorts of good things – all for FREE.

New Fundraising Goal: $20,000
With that said, we were able to meet & beat our original fundraising goal of $15,000 for Happy Healthy Kids. Since people wanted the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite to continue, we’ve raised our fundraising goal. We now hope to raise $20,000 for this remarkable program.
We only need to raise $4,870!
