There’s Bearly Anymore Time to See the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite, Today is the Final Day

I can’t Bear it.  It’s the final day of the Teddy Bear Suite.  If you haven’t stopped by, today is the day!  We’ll be there from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  It seems as though the weekend of Christmas in Edgartown goes by so quickly, and I never get to do all the things I want to.

I didn’t make a wreath at Donaroma’s this year, missed the lighting of the Edgartown Lighthouse, missed breakfast with Santa at The Wharf, but what I did get to do was help make hundreds of kids, big and small, smile.

Spending the weekend with the bears, I got to see the joy the Teddy Bear Suite brought to so many people. From a 6-month-old baby girl, to a group of rowdy thirty-somethings, to an 85-year-old woman, there was not a single person, who did not smile when they entered room 201 at the Harbor View Hotel.

It was so much fun to watch little ones go from bear to bear, enjoying every inch of the suite.  Hearing the laughter when they went into the bathroom and saw teddy bears in the bathtub.  Hugging big ole Edgar, snuggling with Chappy, or finding a bear just their size to hug, it truly is room filled with holiday magic. With that said, I think the Teddy Bear Suite is an overwhelming success.

Though we love that the Teddy Bear Suite has made so many people happy and helped create more holiday memories, we have to remember that the Teddy Bear Suite is a fundraiser for the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club After School Program.  It’s those kids we also want to help make smile and feel safe and happy throughout the year, and we need your support.

So far, we have raised a little over $3,000, but we would love to raise $5,000 or more this year.   If you can’t visit the Teddy Bear Suite or would like to contribute, click here to make your tax-deductible donation. By the way, Point B Realty is contributing 50-cents for every dollar raised online, which could push our total up to $7,500 if we make our goal! Also with a donation of $10 or more, you can take home one of our Teddy Bear Suite Commemorative Bears.  How cute is this little teddy?  I can tell you a lot of kids have fallen in love with this bear, and are so happy to take home a little magic of the Teddy Bear Suite. These will sell out today, as we only have a handful left.
