The Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite raised $10,164 for the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club’s After School Program! That’s over $2,500 more than last year’s total of $7,600.
The Teddy Bear Suite has proven again, that it is so much more than a place where holiday memories are made. It’s an event that gives the gift of a great future to Island Children.
Through online donations, which Point B Realty contributed 50-cents for every dollar donated to help make our goal, amazing raffle items, and donations at the actual Teddy Bear Suite at the Harbor View Hotel, we were able to meet and beat our $10,000 goal.
We set a big goal for the Teddy Bear Suite this year, since two of the Club’s fundraising events, Wingfest and Casino Night, did not happen. It was important to raise extra money to fill that gap. And, with your help, we did it! Click here for a list of all those who helped.
Bruins Jersey Raffle Winner
Talk about great raffle items, we had a Boston Bruins Jersey, signed by the 2012 -2013 team. This jersey, donated by the Jacobs Family (who own the Bruins and also have a home on the Vineyard), the Boston Bruins Foundation, and friends and supporters of the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club.
This was a really amazing item to have, and it just shows how generous people can be when it comes to supporting the children and families of Martha’s Vineyard.
The Bruins Jersey raffle was held open after the Teddy Bear Suite at the Harbor View ended because of demand. It went until December 23rd, and an additional $300 was raised with raffle ticket sales which helped break the $10,000 goal.
Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club Executive Director Pete Lambos and Club board member, Sydney Mullen drew the winning ticket.
The winner of this sought after jersey was Mike Issokson from Duncanville, Texas. I bet he is one happy man, and how great to have a Bruins fan in Texas! Boston Strong all over the country, even in Texas!
The Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite’s goal of raising $10,000 has been achieved. We could not be more excited to have helped raise so much money for the After School Program.
Now, it’s time for the bears to go back to the bear cave in Edgartown, and rest up until next year’s Teddy Bear Suite, when we’ll have even more holiday wonder in-store for kids of all ages.
