As you can imagine, we could not be any happier about the success of The Teddy Bear Suite. Raising $3,000 and extending the event because of its popularity was so exciting for us, especially since it was a brand new event. We loved The Teddy Bear Suite and its concept, but it was wonderful that so many others did too! Being a part of something so special during the holiday season really helps you gain some perspective about this time of year. I was really impressed with the support and generosity of so many.
Edgartown Businesses Give Generously
We have to thank the Business Sponsors who helped us, especially the Harbor View Hotel. Their donation of the suite was crucial to the event’s success, as was the help of their wonderful staff. We also have to thank Atria restaurant and Murdick’s Fudge for donating prizes for the raffle, which was really popular, and the Edgartown Board of Trade for believing in us and in The Teddy Suite.
The Volunteers Make It Possible
An event like The Teddy Bear Suite requires a lot of help, and we were lucky to have some amazing volunteers. A big thanks to all of those who gave their time to help make this event such a success:
Vicki Bologna, Meghan Monteson, Tanya Patnaude, Peter Lambos, Paula Rego, Deb Davis, Wendy Harman, Win Baker, Guinevere Cramer, Nevaeh Browne, Aaliyah Burney, Mercedes Burney, Keissila Cecilio, Amber Cuthbert, Kathryn Cuthbert, Nathan Cuthbert, Mason Mercier, Ruby Mercier, Chris Patnaude (who was also our Ted E Bear in the Edgartown Parade), Tianna Rambonga, Micah Simmons, and Isabellla Vasiliadis
Every Donation Has An Impact
Through raffle sales, the donation box, and on-line donations, we were able to exceed our orignal goal of $2,500 and break the $3,000 mark. People’s generosity with this event was amazing. I think that the idea that you are helping children really makes you feel good about donating, and with this event in particular, it was nice to know that all the money raised was going directly to the MV Boys & Girls Club Power Hour, the educational portion of the popular After School Program that serves several hundred kids a year.
Though we were not able to capture all the names of those who gave to The Teddy Bear Suite, we do have a number of people we can thank. A very special thank you to those who gave so generously to The Teddy Bear Suite:
Elizabeth Baker, Michael Baker, Keith & Susan Bass, Kristin Buck, Guinevere Cramer, Mike & Jean Crispino, Christine Davis, Deb Davis, Joseph DiRico, Gordon & Sandi Harman, Valerie Hart, Sheryl Huber, Rick & Denise Lambos, Lianna Loughman, Deborah Nugent, Yoly O’Connell, Paula Rego, Jim Rice, Ezra Sherman, Kristen & Erin Ward & Family
The Teddy Bear Suite to be an Annual Fundraiser
With this year’s success, we are already planning for next year’s Teddy Bear Suite. Expect to see some of our old fuzzy friends and some new additions.
Thank you for visiting us this year, and we wish you a wonderful holiday and a happy and health 2012.
