It's a special year to be visiting the Island as we're celebrating the 50th anniverasry of the movie JAWS, Stephen Spielberg's iconic blockbuster movie that was filmed here in 1975. Here's how to have some fun and immerse yourself in some of the Amity Island history and fun -- as we Celebrate The 50th Anniversary of Jaws With The Point B Social Media Contest.
Celebrate The 50th Anniversary of Jaws With The Point B Social Media Contest - The Rules
1. Map out the JAWS movie locations you'd like to visit (see map below).

3. Post your videos or photos to Instagram using the following special contest hashtag #jaws50pointb
4. Each week, the Point B Team will pick the best posts based on overall creativity and the number of locations visited.
5. Winners will be announced each Thursday on Point B's Instagram and Facebook.
6. Winners can pick up a $100 cash prize plus a fun JAWS board game at the Point B Vacation Rental office in Vineyard Haven, at 79 Beach Road, in the Tisbury Marketplace. Prizes will be awarded from June 1st to August 31st.
Celebrate The 50th Anniversary of Jaws With The Point B Social Media Contest - The Movie Locations
1. Jaws Bridge (Oak Bluffs) ~ State Beach and the American Legion Memorial Bridge (aka Jaws Bridge) figure prominently in the movie. Remember Alex Kinter and the man in the red rowboat?
2. South Beach (Edgartown) ~ The classic opening scene of the movie with the beach bonfire before Chrissie Watkins becomes the first victim.
3. Edgartown Town Hall (Edgartown) ~ You will recognize many of the buildings from downtown Amity (Edgartown) Village, including Amity town hall. Much of Main Street still looks very similar to the movie.
4. Chappy Ferry (Edgartown) ~ The Chappy Ferry is the backdrop for the turning point scene where the mayor ensures Chief Brody will keep the beaches open for the 4th of July holiday. Bad decision.
5. Menemsha (Chilmark/Menemsha) ~ Menemsha is home to Quint, the crusty shark hunter played by Robert Shaw. While his fishing shack home is no longer there, the iconic fishing village remains a popular destination.
6. Gay Head Lighthouse (Aquinnah) ~ The lighthouse appears in several key scenes. It’s also the location for (the temporary) “Amity Island Welcomes You” billboard. A very popular Jaws fan stop.
