After all the votes were tallied from Facebook, Twitter, email, Pinterest, and even LinkedIn, Chappy was the clear winner, with TisBeary and Gosnold being favored as well. We love our bear’s new name! It’s actually quite fitting since our other big, lovable bear is named Edgar.
As Scott Tuttle — who was the first to suggest Chappy — said of his name choice, “It’s Edgar’s country cousin.” And since Edgar is a boy, we think Chappy should be a girl.
Thank you to all of you who submitted names and voted in our social media name event. We wouldn’t have such a great name for our new mascot without your help. We hope that you will come meet Chappy at the Teddy Bear Suite. She is very sweet, and will definitely bring a smile to your face. I know my daughter, Charly, couldn’t get enough of her.
Now that Chappy has a name, we can get to work setting up the Teddy Bear Suite. The bears will be leaving Point B’s office this week, and they’re ready for a weekend of fun. It’s hard to believe that at 4 p.m. on Friday, December 7th, our annual Teddy Bear Suite will be opening its doors.
Now in our second year, we have the most beautiful water view suite at the Harbor View Hotel, Room 201. With a bigger suite, you’ll enter a world filled with even more holiday splendor.
Teddy Bear Suite Hours
- Friday, December 7th, 4 – 8 p.m.
- Saturday, December 8th, 12 – 6 p.m. (Keep an eye out for us at the Christmas in Edgartown Parade!)
- Sunday, December 9th, 10 – 4 p.m.
Don’t forget your camera, this is the event where holiday memories are made.
