Martha’s Vineyard Welcomes Summer With Exciting New Restaurants Retail And Reimagined Spaces

Each summer brings exciting changes to Martha’s Vineyard — new restaurants, new retail shops, and fresh experiences to discover. Some changes are unexpected, while others are eagerly anticipated, always keeping us on our toes. While we welcome new additions, it can also be difficult to say goodbye to longtime favorites. We’re excited to share this blog with you and hope it helps make you even more excited for Summer on the Island - Martha's Vineyard Welcomes Summer With Exciting New Restaurants Retail And Reimagined Spaces in Vineyard Haven, Edgartown, and Oak Bluffs.

Martha's Vineyard Welcomes Summer With Exciting New Restaurants Retail And Reimagined Spaces - Vineyard Haven

Vineyard Haven has experienced tremendous growth over the last couple of years, evolving into an even more vibrant destination on Martha’s Vineyard. With the addition of several exciting dining establishments — including Ocean Club El Barco, 9 Craft, The Maker, and Qutisa — along with an expanding retail scene, Vineyard Haven has become a town that should not be missed.

The Wave Restaurant & Bar

When driving down Beach Road, I was surprised to see a new sign for Wave where Garde East had been for many years. Garde East was a favorite of many summer folks, especially West Chop residents, and for Islanders. Watching the ferries come and go through Vineyard Haven Harbor with dinner and drinks is a tradition for so many.

The Wave Restaurant & Bar is being opened by a family run restaurant business that has restaurants on Nantucket, Easy Street Restaurant and Island Blend. Opening a location on the Vienyard seemed like a good fit. The intent is to be accessible for everyone. Their signature lobster roll -- popular on Nantucket -- is on the menu, along with other favorites. Wave will be open 10 AM - 10 PM through September. We can't wait to try The Wave! I see a future blog post! Get your reservations today, click here.

India Rose Collective

Island icon India Rose has expanded her brand with the opening of a new retail space, India Rose Collective. Located at 49 Main Street, the shop is a thoughtfully curated lifestyle boutique featuring home décor, apparel, and Vineyard-inspired essentials.

The new space brings together both of her popular clothing and sportswear brands — Sideline and Martha’s Vineyard Streetwear Co. — along with a carefully selected collection of pieces designed to complement your Vineyard lifestyle. Click here to learn more.

Toccopuro

While the name has not been 100% confirmed, we do know that a new coffee shop is coming to the former home of Mocha Mott’s. The owners of Toccopuro recently purchased the space, bringing their popular café concept to Vineyard Haven. You may already be familiar with Toccopuro from their seasonal locations in Edgartown and Oak Bluffs, where they serve a variety of specialty drinks and light bites. Many people are hopeful that this new location will operate year-round — something Islanders are always excited to see. Opening date TBD. Click here to learn more.

And while many will certainly miss Mocha Mott’s in Vineyard Haven, fans can still visit the beloved Oak Bluffs location, which remains open.

Oleanna

Oleanna will be opening its doors where Magnetic North once was. This space is beautiful and if Oleanna is anything like its sister shop in Cambridge, Cambridge Mercantile, we are in for a treat. We don't know much else about this shop - yet! Soon as we know more -- you will too!

Noteworthy Vineyard Haven updates: Not new to Vineyard Haven, but Net Result is undergoing a complete renovation. We can't wait to see what this beloved seafood market looks like once completed. And if you happen to be checking in or stopping by the Point B Vacation Rentals + Experiences store, we're just a couple of doors down from Net Result in the Tisbury Marketplace. Vineyard Tap is now Vineyard Grill -- new owner, new vibe. We have to check it out!

Martha's Vineyard Welcomes Summer With Exciting New Restaurants Retail And Reimagined Spaces - Edgartown

Edgartown is always magical. This classic New England town shines especially brightly during the summer months, with its charming streets, historic architecture, and timeless coastal beauty. Known for its consistency and longstanding local businesses, Edgartown has a way of holding onto the places people love most. Once established in this iconic whaling town, businesses tend to stay for years to come.

This season, however, we are seeing some exciting new additions, particularly among home décor shops and local artist spaces, bringing fresh creativity and inspiration to the Edgartown retail scene.

Biscuit By the Sea

Biscuit By the Sea is moving into the space formerly home to Nell and Untameable Gallery. The new shop will feature a thoughtfully curated collection of items perfect for your Vineyard home, blending coastal charm with unique design finds.

We are excited to see the space come to life once the store officially opens — it has always been one of our favorite locations in town. Click here to learn more.

Summer Street Upholstery & Design

Located on Summer Street in Edgartown, just around the corner from our Point B Realty At Compass office on Winter Street, you’ll find a delightful new shop, Summer Street Upholstery, by Becky Langis, specializing in custom upholstery and thoughtfully curated home design services. Upholstery is a wonderful way to refresh and personalize the furniture you already love while enhancing both comfort and style in your home.

Custom upholstery allows you to select fabrics that reflect your personal aesthetic, customize seat depth and height for maximum comfort, and preserve quality furniture rather than replacing it with lesser-quality, mass-produced pieces. It’s a sustainable and creative way to bring new life to your home while creating spaces that feel uniquely yours. Click here to learn more.

MV Botiga Pop-Up Series

This summer, MV Botiga, located on Church Street next to 19 Raw, is doing something a little different. Beginning in July, the shop will host a series of artist pop-ups throughout the season, creating an exciting opportunity to discover both local talent and other favorite artists and designers.

Be sure to follow MV Botiga on social media for updates and event announcements so you can experience these special collaborations all summer long. What a fun addition to the Edgartown shopping scene! Click here to learn more.

Noteworthy Edgartown Updates: Brodenim will be moving into where Valbaara once was. In addition to Brodenim favorites, there will also be a Swedish candy pop-up. Untameable Gallery is moving around the corner, and sadly Suka will not be opening its doors this season. Stay tuned for additional changes.

Martha's Vineyard Welcomes Summer With Exciting New Restaurants Retail And Reimagined Spaces - Oak Bluffs

Oak Bluffs is the town seeing the most changes this season! It’s incredible how many establishments are evolving, opening, or reimagining their spaces. Summer 2026 is shaping up to be an especially exciting one in Oak Bluffs, with plenty of new energy throughout town.

Jetty Beach House

Jetty Beach House is opening in the space formerly home to Lobsterville, bringing a new elevated dining experience to Oak Bluffs Harbor. Think champagne, caviar, incredible oysters, lobster rolls, and so much more — all paired with stunning harbor views.

This is going to be quite the transformation for the harborfront dining scene, and we can’t wait to see owner Jordan Wallace bring his vision of a sophisticated oyster bar to life. Jetty Beach House is sure to become one of the most talked-about spots of the summer. Click here for the menu.

Coatwise Cafe

The Black Dog is expanding in Oak Bluffs with a second location, Coastwise Pub, opening in the former Mikado space below Red Cat Kitchen. Coastwise Pub will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering everything from coffee in the morning to cocktails in the evening — and plenty in between.

We’re looking forward to seeing how The Black Dog transforms the space and brings a fresh pub-style atmosphere to Oak Bluffs. It’s sure to become another lively gathering spot in town this summer and maybe even year-round!

Inkwell Beach House

Inkwell Beach House will soon call the former Martha’s Vineyard Chowder Company location home, bringing an exciting new dining and gathering space to Oak Bluffs. The downstairs restaurant will be led by celebrity chef G. Garvin, known for hosting popular cooking shows including Turn Up the Heat with G. Garvin and Hustle, Sizzle, and Smoke.

Upstairs, the space is being designed to host a variety of community-centered events, from conversation groups and private gatherings to art showcases and live music performances.

It sounds like Inkwell Beach House is set to bring incredible energy, dynamic programming, and amazing cuisine to Oak Bluffs, and we can’t wait to see it come to life this season.

Esh

Dos Mas has officially transformed into Esh, which means fire, — featuring the same ownership, but with a new chef, refreshed décor, and an exciting new culinary direction. At Esh, Chef Michael Thomas is serving elevated American cuisine with a California-inspired twist, bringing a fresh and modern energy to the Oak Bluffs dining scene.

In addition to dinner, Esh will also offer brunch, which is a welcome addition for both Islanders and summer visitors alike. You can enjoy everything from pancakes and traditional breakfast favorites like the “Have It Your Way” platter — featuring two eggs any style, potatoes, choice of meat or avocado, and sourdough toast — to heartier options like their signature Smash Burger. Martha's Vineyard Chowder Company

Martha’s Vineyard Chowder Company is making an exciting move to a brand-new, more intimate space on Kennebec Avenue. Slated to open in late May, the new location promises a fresh atmosphere along with a new menu and exciting updates. We’re looking forward to experiencing this next chapter for a longtime Island restaurant and can’t wait to see what’s in store.

Highlands General

Highlands General opened its doors at the end of March. Located on Circuit Ave where Linda Jeans used to be, it's exactly the kind of vibrant year-round spot downtown has been missing. From breakfast sandwiches and lunch, to grab and go salads, snacks, sweet treats, coffee, curated dry goods and more - this is your one stop shop. If you want to dine in, no problem they have plenty of seating. The window seats are a crowd favorite. It's fun to watch the folks go by. Noteworthy Oak Bluffs Updates: Coming soon - a whole new mixed use building to where Phillips Hardware once was. What a change on Circuit Avenue without that building there. Slip 77 has closed its doors as well. It was a favorite stop for unique gifts, great Island clothes, and special finds for ourselves and others. Slip 77 will certainly be missed, and it will be a tough act to follow.
