When Katie is not finding the perfect home for our clients, she is immersed in cookbooks, finding new ways to serve the community or spending time with her rescue dog, Bosun.
Katie is an avid cookbook collector and cookbook reader. She reads them from cover to cover. She does enjoy cooking, but there is something magical that the culinary tale of a cookbook spins.

Regarding community service, she lives by the Rotary Club’s mantra “Service Above Self,” and she is the current Rotary Club of Martha’s Vineyard President! Supporting the community is part of her daily routine. Her father was a Rotarian and stressed the importance of giving back. Doing her part is a touchstone with her father.
Point B Realty Agent Profile: Katie Dawson – Rescue Dog Bosun
Bosun came into Katie’s life on Mother’s Day, 2018, from the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard. He had just turned one, and was still very much a puppy. Bosun has enhanced Katie’s life in so many ways.
He’s the perfect partner, says Katie. He likes to hike, swim and be social, just like Katie. His favorite spots are Lambert’s Cove, Pennywise, and the newly renovated dog park in Vineyard Haven.
Point B Realty Agent Profile: Katie Dawson – Moves To Martha’s Vineyard
Katie decided to move to Martha’s Vineyard six years ago. She did not have a job nor a place to live. However, she knew the Island would be home for her. She wanted to live somewhere she really loved, and she fell in love with Martha’s Vineyard 20 years ago. She took the leap, and the Island caught her, embraced her.
Katie began working for Mayflower Moving Company, where she is still the Relocation Specialist for Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha’s Vineyard. She realized that the best referrals for her job came from real estate agents.
However, meeting real estate agents can be challenging because they are out with clients so often and not in the office. She decided that becoming a real estate agent would be a great way to create more relationships.
Little did she know it, but real estate was made for her. Katie has thrived, showing a dedication and commitment to her clients and our team that is inspiring. Everyday is different, and she truly enjoys working to find her clients their Island home.
In addition to all of the above, Katie is a member of the Garden Club of Martha’s Vineyard and a member of the WMVY Advisory Board.
