Though the weather was not that nice, grey and a little rainy, the Point B Realty team gathered together to participate in the Vineyard Conservation Society’s 25th Annual Earth Day Beach Clean-Up. Part of the 100’s of volunteers who together gathered copious amount of trash from beaches all over the Island.
We had a last minute change of beach. Instead of our tradition of cleaning Lighthouse Beach, Vineyard Conservation Society needed volunteers at other beaches. So our crew headed to Bend in the Road Beach in Edgartown.
For our team, it is a family affair, and pooch friendly too. Many people brought their kiddos, helping them learn the importance of keeping our beaches and waters clean.
This year’s clean-up crew was on point. We gathered eight large bags of trash from Bend in the Road Beach, a significant amount for the stretch of beach we did.
There were a lot of plastic bottles, nips, bags, fishing rope, and an large amount of balloon ribbons. The kids were especially shocked and a little saddened by all the trash we found.
The Point B Beach Clean Up Team
We were so proud to be a part of this do-good event. It was a team effort and definitely more fun than work. There were 24 people and three dogs helping out: Allison Fisher, her family, Mike, Brynn, Asher, Harley, and Tuukka (the pup); Dawn Bellante and her husband Tony; Julia Baxter Smith, her family, Ryan, Hailey, Mya and Hudson; Annie Sylvia; Stacy Ickes; Trish Lyman and her friend Justen Foster (past buyer client) and her dog Flash; Judy Rogers and her dog Griffy; me and my kiddos, Charlotte and Anderson; Wendy Harman and Win Baker.
We should be working to keep our Island and its shores clean everyday, not just Earth Day.
