Did you you know that almost half of the beautiful, fresh food grown at Island Grown Initiative is donated to the Island Food Pantry and other organizations that address food inequity? The CSA membership fees help make these donations possible. What types of fruits and veggies are available with the membership? There are a number of items available. During summer and early fall there are beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, collards, eggplant, kale, lettuce, melons, onions, peppers, potatoes, strawberries, summer squash, tomatoes, and often additional options. I really enjoy the IGI tomatoes and strawberries. There is also a winter CSA option to help keep you fridge stocked with local, healthy options.

As summer approaches, there may be additional CSA options added to this post so check back often. Many of the Island’s farms are working hard to get ready for the season, and will know their offerings as season gets closer. Also, even if you do not join a CSA, we hope you get to enjoy the wonderful locally grown items the Island’s farms have to offer. Martha’s Vineyard is home to an estimated 80 farms. There is a vibrant agricultural community on the Island, and we hope you get to enjoy it when you are here whether that’s year round, for a season or the week.
