Columbus Day weekend is a tipping point on Martha’s Vineyard, a sort of last hurrah. There are still lots of people here, lots of things happening, places are open, and the weather, sans a Nor’easter, is Fall perfection. But you might not like what you see in our Martha’s Vineyard Restaurant Update — there are lots of closings for the season coming soon.

There are so many restaurants and other places closing if not this weekend, soon after. We didn’t want you to miss the chance to visit your favorites. So, here’s what we’ve compiled so far for restaurants until November 1st.

Martha’s Vineyard Restaurant Update: Last Call For Columbus Day Weekend

Columbus Day weekend is the last time to visit a couple great Edgartown restaurants – the Quarterdeck, Detente, and The Covington. Monday will be the last day for Dairy Queen, Mad Rosies, Behind the Bookstore and Isola, and some great Oak Bluffs restaurants too including Biscuits, Oyster Bar 02557, Fishbones and Gio’s Takeout.

Martha’s Vineyard Restaurant Update: The Week After The Holiday Weekend

Then we take a break until the next weekend when we loose two fun spots, The Seafood Shanty, NOMANS and 19 Raw (both celebrate their last day on the 19th) and Coop De Ville and Back Door Doughnuts (the 20th). Larsen’s closes up in Menemsha. A great breakfast and lunch spot, Among the Flowers says adieu as well.

Next up is Fat Ronnie’s and Sea Smoke. Their last day is Monday the 21st. Oak Bluffs dining scene gets a little smaller.

Martha’s Vineyard Restaurant Update: After The Wine Festival

After Martha’s Vineyard Food and Wine Weekend, October 23rd – 27th, which you should definitely check out as a foodie or wine fan, The Dunes, The Atlantic and Dilly’s Taqueria close for the season.

The final night for The Port Hunter is Halloween! It’s always a SPOOKTACULAR night!

These dates are subject to change and I would definitely recommend calling a restaurant this time of year first – just to be safe. Often, there are certain days of the week places will close. Also, I am sorry if I forgot anyone!

Martha’s Vineyard Restaurant Update: Restaurants That ARE Staying Open — At Least For Now!

Look on the bright side, there are still lots of restaurants open to enjoy – l’etoile, Town MV, Rockfish, The Wharf, Bettini, Offshore, Goldenbull Steak House, Woods, The Cardboard Box, The Barn, Alchemy, Chowder CO, Copper Wok, Little House Cafe, The Lookout, Ocean View, The Black Dog, Sharky’s, Rosewater, Dos Mas, Espresso Love, Edgartown Meat & Fish, Roxanna, The Ritz, The First Light Cafe, The Art Cliff,  State Road,  Beach Road, Life at Humphrey’s, Black Sheep,  Katama General Store, Linda Jeans, Farm Neck Cafe, The Sweet Life Cafe, 7a, and Lucky Hanks.
