The Teddy Bear Trot 5K and Fun Run, part of the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite Fundraiser, is back. This healthy, family-friendly addition to the festivities of Christmas in Edgartown has become a favorite of Islanders and visitors alike.
It has become a significant fundraising event in the overall Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite Holiday Fundraiser, which is sponsored and supported by Point B Realty. All the money raised, goes to support the vital MV Boys & Girls Club Healthy Happy Kids childhood hunger program. In its first seven years, more than $126,000 has been raised
The only 5K race to go through historic, downtown Edgartown, and sprinkled with festively dressed runners, the Teddy Bear Trot is one of a kind on Martha’s Vineyard.
Teddy Bear Trot Date & Time
The Teddy Bear Trot will be held on Sunday, December 9th. The half-mile kid’s run starts at 9:45 a.m. and the 5K begins at 10:00 a.m.
The Martha’s Vineyard Hurricanes Youth Running Club helps us make this event possible, helping organize the race as part of the kids’ community service! This year’s event promises to be bigger and even better.
We plan to surprise participants with unforgettable shirts, tasty prizes and more. The Teddy Bear Trot route will be slightly different this year. And the Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite has a new home which we will be revealing soon!

MV Teddy Bear Suite Fundraiser
Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite is an annual holiday fundraiser for the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club’s Healthy Happy Kids Program. This vital program, funded by this magical holiday event, provides free healthy, hearty snacks for the Club’s After School program.
With food insecurity being a serious problem on our Martha’s Vineyard, this program supports and feeds more than 500 elementary school-aged kids a week. Online donations to the overall 2018 fundraiser are already underway. You can donate online by clicking here.
