It is with great pride and joy that I announce that Point B Realty won Best of the Vineyard Real Estate Company this year.
We’re a small boutique Martha’s Vineyard real estate firm that’s only going into its sixth year, so we are so appreciative of everyone’s support from here on the Island and across the globe. Thank you for voting for Point B.
The Best of the Vineyard party by Martha’s Vineyard Magazine is a great way to celebrate the coming summer with, well, some of the best of the Vineyard. It’s a fun way to celebrate with your co-workers and it’s always a great night out.
Of course you have to meet before hand to do a little pre-game fun. Since the event was held at The Loft in Oak Bluffs, we decided to have the Point B Realty team meet at the Lookout Tavern before, have a little sushi and cocktail, and celebrate some of the accomplishments of the business.
The only bummer was that Point B Realty owners Wendy Harman and Win Baker were out of town and missed the evening.
Then it’s off to the red carpet, and then time for Best of the Vineyard. It’s always nice to catch up with other business owners and friends on this night. People are pretty happy this evening. It’s pretty awesome to have the opportunity to celebrate each other’s accomplishments.
Best of the Vineyard
This year, Martha’s Vineyard Magazine was pretty hush hush about the winners. So, the party was even more exciting.
I love when they start calling the winners and runner-ups. There’s something special about watching these people, who work so hard, and love this Island so much, having this moment to be celebrated.
After all, it’s the votes of the people that determine the winners, and getting that love definitely feels good.
Some Surprises
There’s always a surprise or two at this event. The one for me was Best Live Music Venue. The Ritz won this year.
It just goes to show you that Larkin and Jacqueline Stalling’s hard work has paid off. Not only is the Ritz a serious hotspot in Oak Bluffs, but it’s also the music mecca for the town. And let’s face it, OB likes its music.
Another big surprise was us winning Best Real Estate Company. In six short years, we’ve come a long way. Last year, we came close as runner-up, but this year the magic happened.
We couldn’t ask for a better team, all hardworking and fun-loving. Along with setting people’s dreams in motion by helping them find the perfect Vineyard home, our company is also committed to being an active part of the community.
Through the monies raised for the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club from our annual Martha’s Vineyard Teddy Bear Suite Fundraiser (for the MV Boys & Girls Club) and additional charitable work throughout the year, we are doing what we can to support our Island charities.
And we can’t forget our On Point Blog, which has not only become a great resource for Island happenings, but has also helped a number of Island non-profits and businesses get their message out.
We at Point B are so humbled and excited to be voted by our friends, colleagues, neighbors and clients, as the Best of the Vineyard. What an amazing gift!
I wanted to also mention how great it is that Tracker Home Decor won best Interior Design Company. There is some fierce competition on Island, and John Murphy and his team are truly a talented group.
Well Deserved
All the winners and runner-ups are deserving, but there are a few of my favorites that I love seeing get recognized.
For Best Charity Event, of course Taste of the Vineyard took home the gold. With the event less than a week away, the Island is abuzz with the question “What are you wearing to the Taste?”
When chatting with Meg Rottman, from the Preservation Trust, I found out that there are 100 vendors at this year’s event. Also, it’s The Taste’s 30th Anniversary — which has pearls for a gift.
So, there will be pearls incorporated into the event. In case you were wondering, I am wearing a long, emerald green silk dress this year.
I was glad to see that Offshore Ale won best bar/pub and Best Year Round Restaurant. I know that it’s a great place, and it has a special place in my heart.
Of course, I love that the Lookout Tavern won Best Sushi. We ate sushi there before the event. Everyone likes the sushi there. Remember to try the Spicy Trio next time you’re there. It’s the best deal on the menu.
It was nice to see our friends at the Harbor View Hotel win Best Hotel, General Excellence. Elizabeth Rothwell and the Harbor View team do a lot for the Island.
Atria won Best Burger. And if you’ve ever done burger night on Sundays off-season, you know it’s true. Yum, now I can’t stop thinking about the Frenchie.
The list of amazing, talented Island business who won goes on and on. Lucky for us there are so many. To all of you, congratulations. It’s a great achievement to receive this award. Keep up the good work and have a great Summer.
We’d like to say thank you to all who voted for us. We are so proud and excited to have won this award with your help.
