If the Memorial Day holiday weekend on Martha’s Vineyard is any indication of what’s to come, this is going to be one busy summer on the Vineyard.
Saturday and Sunday indeed felt and looked like summer days, with lots of sun, and lots of people, from flag-lined Main Street in Edgartown to the crowded harbor front in Oak Bluffs.
Across the Island, temperatures hovered in the mid-60’s and up. Warm enough for some to brave the chilly waters of South Beach in Katama.
But there was no shortage of sun bathers, volley ball, and time with friends.
On land and sea.
Our Point B Realty team had a chance to meet a lot of new friends at our Open House Tour on Saturday, which stretched across Edgartown and featured six distinctive homes, including a renovated captain’s house on North Water Street that was built by the first whaling captain in Edgartown.
After two glorious days of sunshine, cloudy skies and a little drizzle rolled in on Monday. But visions of the sunny summer ahead . . . linger on.
