Now a recognized National Historic Landmark, the carousel is owned and operated by the Martha’s Vineyard Preservation Trust. Flying Horses Carousel sits right downtown, in the hustle and bustle of Oak Bluffs, where it’s been delighting generations of families since the late 1800’s.

Grabbing the ring takes some skill, as well as luck, since the ring holding arm only contains a few brass rings among its large stock. The brass ring earns you a free ride on the Flying Horses.

The Flying Horses Carousel generally opens around Easter with weekend rides, then goes daily for the heart of the summer season. While there will be lines in the middle of the summer, they move quickly.
